Trust and safety
Every MidStays home is inspected in person by a local property manager before you arrive. That manager walks the home against the listing: the kitchen appliances, the washer and dryer, the wifi, the locks, the detectors, the parking, and the condition of every room. Verified on MidStays means exactly that inspection happened.
That is a deliberate difference from a generic listing site, where nobody checks anything and you find out on arrival. It is also different from a monthly booking with an absent host, where the photos may be years old and there is no one to call when the dishwasher stops draining on a Sunday.
A local manager is a real person in the area where the home sits. They inspect the home before you arrive, they answer during your stay, and they can be at the property. MidStays does not manage homes — MidStays verifies them and connects you to the local manager who stands behind each one.
Before a MidStays stay begins, a local property manager physically inspects the home against its listing. The checklist below is what that inspection covers: appliances, laundry, wifi, entry, detectors, parking, heating and cooling, linens, and a room-by-room match to the photos. Anything that fails is fixed before the home is released for arrival.
| Checked before every arrival | What the local manager confirms |
|---|---|
| Kitchen appliances all operating | Full-size range and oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher all run. Cookware, dishes, utensils, and coffee equipment are present. |
| Washer and dryer operating | Both run a cycle, and both are inside the home rather than shared down a hallway or in another building. |
| Wifi live and tested | Connected and tested on site, not simply listed as available. The network name and password are confirmed as the ones you will be given. |
| Every room matches the listing photos | Room by room against the photos: same layout, same furniture, same condition. This is the check that makes the photos the home. |
| Beds and linens present and clean | Every bed made up, linens and towels present, clean, and undamaged, in the bed count the listing states. |
| Locks and entry method working | Every exterior lock engages, and the exact entry method you will use — code, lockbox, or key handoff — is tested end to end. |
| Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors present | Installed, powered, and in the locations the home requires. A missing or dead detector stops the home from being released. |
| Parking as described | Driveway, garage, covered space, assigned space, or street — confirmed to be exactly what the listing says, and confirmed to be usable. |
| Heating and cooling operating | Both run and hold temperature, checked for the season you are arriving in — which matters in a desert summer and a mountain winter. |
| No outstanding maintenance | No open work orders and no deferred repairs. Nothing is left as something to get to after you move in. |

Verified, not just listed
Six things separate a verified MidStays home from a generic monthly listing: a physical inspection before arrival, a named local manager, a professional clean, a photo-accurate listing, a real full kitchen with in-home laundry, and a written rental agreement. Each one is a check somebody performs, not a promise on a page.
A local property manager walks the home against its listing before your dates open. That completed inspection is what the word verified means on MidStays. Nothing else earns the label.
A real person in the area where the home sits, who can be at the property, and who answers at 9pm on day 40 — not a call center reading a script in another time zone.
Every room is checked against the listing photos. If the listing shows a home office and a covered patio, the inspection confirms the home office and the covered patio are there.
Not a quick tidy between bookings. The home is professionally cleaned, and the clean is confirmed as part of the inspection, before your arrival date.
Every MidStays home has a full kitchen with a full-size range, refrigerator, and dishwasher, plus a washer and dryer in the home — verified as operating, not just listed.
Your stay runs on a signed rental agreement naming the dates, the total, and the terms. No informal arrangement to renegotiate on day 40, and no verbal understanding to remember.
Every review below is from a completed stay of 29 nights or longer in a MidStays-listed home. The length on each card is the booking's actual length, not an estimate.
“The place had everything needed for a long stay, making it feel just like home. The host was quick to answer any questions the whole time. The neighborhood was safe, quiet, and close to everything required for daily life. This is a top choice for anyone needing a long-term stay in the area.”
“We had a wonderful stay. Many guests were snowbirds and it was so nice to socialize with people from all over! The local residents were so friendly and helpful! We hope to visit again.”
“Everything about our stay at this home was great! The home itself, the amenities, the location and the communication with the owner was the best. Thank you for a fabulous 3 months!”

“My family and I stayed for an entire month and it felt like the most relaxing month we have had. The house is well lit, amazingly stocked and organized — and honestly, the pictures do not do it justice. We made this place our home and felt comfortable every single day we were there.”
“We stayed at the home for one month and overall had a great experience. The property is beautiful, spacious, and very well suited for a longer stay. The property management team was responsive whenever issues came up and communication was generally timely throughout the stay.”
It means one specific thing: a local property manager physically inspected that home against its listing before arrival — appliances, laundry, wifi, locks, detectors, parking, heating and cooling, and every room matched to the photos. Verified is a completed inspection, not a marketing grade.
A local property manager in the area where the home sits. MidStays does not manage homes. Each home is backed by a local manager who inspects it before arrival and who is the person you contact during your stay.
Contact your local manager immediately. Because the home was inspected against its listing before your arrival, a mismatch is treated as a failure to be corrected rather than a difference of opinion — and the manager is local enough to come to the property.
Your local manager. That is a named person in the area, reachable during your stay, who can dispatch a repair or come to the home. On a stay of a month or more this matters more than anything on the amenity list.
Yes. Working smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are on the inspection checklist, alongside every exterior lock and the entry method you will use on arrival. Safety items are confirmed before the home is released for your dates.
Yes. Parking, entry, and access are inspected directly against the listing. Your local manager can also answer specific questions about the street, the lighting, and the walk from the parking area to the door — useful if you arrive after a night shift.
Before each arrival rather than once at signup. Every MidStays stay of 29 nights or more begins with an inspection against the listing, which is why a home verified in October is verified again before a February arrival.
No. MidStays verifies homes and connects you to them. Each home is operated independently and backed by a local property manager who inspects it, prepares it, and supports you for the length of your stay.
