Practical for a stay of a month or more: a desk to work at, a mini refrigerator and freezer, a microwave and a coffee maker, plus a decorative electric fireplace and a 32-inch TV in the living space. The shared patio has a gas grill, table seating, benches and lounge chairs, which is where most cooking-for-yourself actually happens in this climate.
The location is the reason to take it. East Beach is one block away on foot. Downtown Santa Barbara and Stearns Wharf are a bike ride along the beach path - 1.4 miles to the wharf - so you can go a month without moving the car much. The Santa Barbara Zoo is under a mile. Groceries, the farmers market and the State Street corridor are all within reach of the same bike.
