Four bedrooms, four bathrooms and 2,455 square feet in South Palm Springs — a reimagined 1950s mid-century home, furnished, and sized for a stay of a month or more.

The kitchen is the part that earns its keep past week two: quartz counters, abundant high gloss white cabinets, stainless steel appliances and a conversation bar. The great room beside it has a modern fireplace, several sitting areas and views out to the pool, and the interior is decorated in the mid-century style the city is known for.

Step outside to lush greenery, an expansive pool and spa, a grilling area with bar seating, a firepit and an outdoor dining area. There is an outdoor freshwater shower, and the grounds are ultra-private, with views of the San Jacinto Mountains, palm trees and desert landscape. A new water softener and purifier serve the entire house.

Downtown is a three-mile drive for shops, restaurants, casinos and art exhibits. For everyday eating there is Workshop Kitchen, Cheeky’s, Farm and Rooster and the Pig (takeout only). Trails abound at Tahquitz Canyon, and Joshua Tree National Park is close enough for a day trip.

Outdoor music is prohibited. Music that is played indoors must not be heard outdoors. City ordinance states that any music that is audible from the property line is a violation. People noise during the day is permissible but must be measured and reasonable. Daytime is considered 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.
