A single-level one-bedroom in Newport Beach, less than two miles from the beach and minutes from Hoag Hospital. With a 30-night minimum, it is built for stays measured in months.

The open floor plan keeps a compact home workable. The kitchenette has a full-size refrigerator, microwave, two-burner cooktop, dishwasher and ample counter space, and a pub-height dining table seats four. There is a plush sectional sofa, a flatscreen TV you can stream to with your own accounts, complimentary high-speed WiFi, central air conditioning and a private washer and dryer — laundry you do not have to leave the house for.

It is set up for one or two people, and the source of the booking usually says which: remote work, temporary corporate housing, a stretch of medical treatment, or time close to someone being cared for at Hoag Hospital.

Close by: Balboa Island and the Balboa Peninsula, Newport Pier, Lido Marina Village, Fashion Island, Crystal Cove State Park and Corona del Mar State Beach, plus scenic bike paths and waterfront restaurants. One dog is welcome.

Two things you should know before you book. This is one of three separate rentals on the property, which may be reserved individually or together as Sunshine Fun Time for up to 16 guests. Exterior security cameras are installed around the property’s exterior, including the front, back, side yards and driveway, and audio and video recording are enabled; these cameras do not monitor interior living spaces.
